Proprio is hiring a VP of Engineering to lead our significant hardware and software development progress from innovative functional prototype to disruptive commercialized product.
We are building a transformative surgical performance platform and we’re looking for an experienced software engineering leader to guide our brilliant teams. Experience in computer vision systems, sensors, robotics, navigation, machine learning and immersive interaction models like AR/VR are all highly valued. Familiarity with the hardware development process is also a plus.
We are working at the forefront of medical imaging and medical device development. These areas of experience are not required to be successful in this position. However, an unquenchable desire for learning would greatly aid you in this role. We are creating the future, and there is so much to learn.
In this role, you have the opportunity to lead Proprio’s core development on the path to commercialization of a breakthrough imaging technology platform. You will work closely with the founding team to develop and maintain a long-term view while executing in the near-term to introduce transformative technology that has the potential to significantly impact the practice of medicine.
Day-to-day, you will be engrossed in the product and user experience, driving the translation of user feedback and observational studies into features that form a cohesive, immersive experience.
Lead the software development teams across computer vision, machine learning, robotics, medical imaging, and user interface. This is a robust role guiding a unique, smart, multi-disciplinary team.
Work with the leadership team and the Hardware Lead to bring the prototype hardware through final development and commercialization.
Evolve and manage the engineering roadmap, including planning the roll-out of next generation systems.
Influence and implement long-term vision, direction and strategy for the engineering organization.

Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in developing and shipping robust, high-quality software products and experiences.
Background working in developing environments and languages such as C++, C#, and Unity. Knowledge of 3D graphics and rendering, GPU optimization, compression and cloud integration.
Familiarity with hardware development processes from board level and circuit board design, to industrial and mechanical engineering.
