12.7.21

University of Washington professor and Proprio Co-founder and Technical Advisory Board member Joshua Smith has been elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors for the class of 2021.

According to UW, Smith, who leads UW’s Sensor Systems Lab, “is only one of five UW faculty members to receive this prestigious award that highlights the prolific spirit of innovation in academic inventors. The NAI Fellows program was created to recognize inventors and their contributions to society...”

Proprio is honored to have Joshua Smith as one of our co-founders, and for the opportunity to continue to create the new way of seeing thanks in large part to his vision, ingenuity, and mentorship.
