Proprio Expands Leadership Team with Key Product, Engineering, Regulatory, and Business Development Hires

2.3.20

SEATTLE — February 3, 2020 — Proprio, the Seattle firm enabling surgeons to perform complex procedures utilizing proprietary imaging techniques and mixed reality environments for more precise surgical navigation, today announced multiple senior executive hires, including Amish Patel, Vice President of Product, Shannon Eubanks, Vice President of Engineering and Regulatory Affairs, and Tony Titus, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.

“As we enter a high-growth stage at Proprio, it is critical we establish a strong, experienced leadership team to drive that growth,” said Gabriel Jones, Proprio CEO and Co-founder. “Our mission and technology attract top talent to Proprio, and I’m pleased that translates to the management team as well.”

Proprio is pioneering new applications for light field rendering, a computational imaging technology that can produce a vivid, 360-degree digital image of the surgical field. Conventional visualization technologies, including microscopes and surgical navigation systems, are limited in their ability to help surgeons avoid unexpected obstacles and adapt to changes in the anatomy, which are common and make even the most detailed pre-operative plans obsolete.

Amish Patel has vast experience taking hybrid hardware and software products to market. He has a background of incubating new concepts by utilizing a mixed-engineering and design approach to product design and execution to market. Prior to joining Proprio he served as VP of Technology for VICIS Inc., Co-founder and CPO of a venture backed consumer-med device startup, Katalyst Inc., and he spent over a decade at Microsoft, last acting as the Director of Experience Engineering and Design for Microsoft’s Personal Devices Group and Health platform. Patel holds honors degrees in both computer science and financial economics from the University of Toronto.
